It’s coming! The album is in it’s final stages of mastering this week and I’m really excited to be sharing the new music with you very soon. It’s been a lot of fun working with producer Chong Lim, recording and mixing between Sydney at Studios 301 and Allen Eaton in Melbourne. Together we’ve found a unique sound that I’m proud to call my own, a sound which you could describe as jazz-influenced singer-songwriter gently crossing over into the Pop world. Thank you to all the amazing musicians and engineers who have contributed to the process. And thank YOU for stopping by — I hope you’ll stay tuned for details of the launch event around the middle of this year! Frances xx
I recently enjoyed a last minute trip to Nashville Tennesee, where I spent a week with some great songwriters. It was a chance to go and be open to any last minute inspiration before I go into the studio to finish recording my studio album (which we are doing this week!) I spent a few days with Chris Pelcer and Adam Crossley who apart from having numerous songwriting successes against their names, were wonderful to work with and gave me a great learning experience. One of the resulting tunes with Adam is currently in the mix for possible album tracks — stay tuned!
I’ll be in the studio for the next two weeks in Sydney and Melbourne, working with producer Chong Lim AM (Sydney Olympics, John Farnham) and a great band. I can’t wait to share the music with you early next year!
By the way if you’d like to come along to a show in the new year, please see my Tour page for our upcoming shows.
Thanks for stopping by :-)

Thank you to Music Love who are a great organisation that supports and champions Australian women in music, founded by talented artist and writer Julie Kerr. It was a pleasure to share some of my stories with her -- read the interview here.
We hope to see you at Foundry next week on Friday 24th for our first public show of 2017! More details and tickets available on the website.
PS. A quick excerpt from the interview with Music Love:
ML: How do audiences respond to your original music?
FM: After a show, people generally respond to the whole performance because we consciously try to take the audience on a bit of a journey. But when people say they have a favourite tune, it is often one of my originals. Some people do get very moved by particular songs or tunes...like someone recently told me the song 'I Will Remember You' had helped them cope after their partner passed away from cancer. I mean, wow! That really had an impact on me.
Read the full interview here.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year and may 2017 bring you everything you hope for. For my part, I've been writing over the break and I'm hoping to start work on my second studio album very soon :-)
